Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association to Hold Annual Convention

Brett Tremelling supports the US Coast Guard in his capacity as a law enforcement instructor at Joint Base Cape Cod in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. Holding the rank of chief petty officer, Brett Tremelling maintains membership with the US Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association, a nonprofit organization established by and working for the benefit of chiefs of the Coast Guard.

In an effort to serve and celebrate its members, the US Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association (CPOA) hosts a national convention each year. In 2017, the CPOA convention will take place August 7-10 at the Crowne Plaza in Louisville, Kentucky.

Over the course of the four-day event, CPOA members will organize into committees and vote on issues pertinent to the organization. CPOA will also recognize the outstanding branch and outstanding chapter of the year, and attendees will have the opportunity to listen to speeches by several high-ranking officers, including Steven Cantrell, the master chief petty officer of the Coast Guard, and Admiral Paul Zukunft, the branch’s commandant.

In addition to CPOA members, the annual convention welcomes individuals who belong to the Coast Guard Enlisted Association, a group overseen by the CPOA. While visiting Louisville, service members are encouraged to enjoy the many activities that the city offers. To learn more about attending, please visit www.uscgcpoa.org.
